Hey lovelies!
So, just a quick one. I’ve just started my second blog – My Trigeminal Neuralgia (I know, I’m awesome at blog titles!) – which will hopefully mean I don’t mention my TN so much on this site. If you happen to be interested in neuropathic pain disorders (aren’t we all?!), or if you just fancy reading about my random little electric shocks, feel free to check it out.

My one and only Thanksgiving was spent with the volunteers of lowernine.org and Common Ground Relief at the Common Ground volunteer house on Deslonde in the Ninth Ward.
The were only a few of us left in the lowernine house, the Europeans had already left, some of the group had gone on a road-trip up to Chicago (can’t remember why) and the rest had headed home for the holiday weekend. The few of us left were invited to join the Common Ground crew to celebrate, so that’s where I headed for my first, and only, ever Thanksgiving. Continue reading

The first time I had Sloppy Joes was at the volunteer house out in NOLA, their not a standard part of UK cuisine…yet.
In the house, most of the volunteers were amazing cooks, which came as somewhat of a surprise to me – back home most late-teen/twenty-somethings weren’t into scratch cooking, but these guys went to town! Continue reading
